Who we are

RevTribe is a community app for car enthusiasts and clubs. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. RevTribe is run by David Pack, an individual in the United Kingdom, who decides how and why your information is used and so is the data controller. Contact: support@revtribe.co.uk.

What we collect

From your Google account when you sign in: your account ID, name and email address. We do not receive your Google password. We also ask for your date of birth once, to check you are 17 or over. We do not keep the date, only that you confirmed.

What you add: your profile (username, bio, photo, privacy setting), cars in your garage with their details, mods and photos, clubs you create or join, posts, photos, comments, revs and reactions, who you follow, block or mute, your answers to a club's join questions, reports you send, and our records of reports, moderation decisions and appeals.

From LostIsh, only if you choose to link it: your LostIsh badges and totals of drives, roads and places. We read them once when you link. LostIsh does not give us your email or your routes.

Automatically: our server keeps normal technical logs, such as your IP address and the time of a request, to keep the service running and secure.

Guests

If you use RevTribe as a guest, your garage and clubs stay on your own phone. We do not receive them.

How we use it

To run the app: show your profile, garage, posts and clubs to the people you have allowed, let people follow and talk to each other, send in-app notifications you have not turned off, and keep your account secure.

To keep people safe: look at reports, remove content that breaks the community rules, and suspend accounts when needed.

To fix and improve the app, and to meet legal duties. We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it.

Our legal reasons

We use your information to provide the service you signed up for (our contract with you), to keep RevTribe safe and working (our legitimate interests), to follow the law, and, where we ask, because you agreed, for example when you link LostIsh.

Who can see your information

Other members: what your privacy setting allows. Public means anyone signed in, Friends only means people you approve, Club only means people in a club with you, and Private means nobody. Your email address is never shown to other members. Posts follow the audience you pick for each one.

People who help us run the service: our hosting provider (IONOS) and Google, which provides sign-in through Firebase. They only handle data to provide those services for us.

Authorities, if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Blocking and muting

If you block someone, you stop seeing each other's profile and posts. Muting hides their posts from your feeds. Neither tells the other person.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, garage, posts, comments, photos, revs, reactions, follows, notifications and clubs you own. Copies in short-term backups can remain for a limited time before they are overwritten. A club you owned is deleted with its albums. Reports, moderation decisions and appeals may be kept for safety and legal records, even after the content has gone.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent you have given. You can edit most of it in the app, delete your account from your profile, and unlink LostIsh at any time. For anything else, email support@revtribe.co.uk and we will reply within one month.

Children

RevTribe is for people aged 17 and over. When you sign in with Google we ask for your date of birth once, to check your age. We do not keep the date, only a record that you confirmed you are old enough. If you tell us you are under 17, your account is deleted. If you think someone younger is using RevTribe, tell us at support@revtribe.co.uk and we will remove the account.

Where your information goes

Our server is run by IONOS. Google may handle sign-in data in other countries, including outside the UK. Where that happens, Google uses recognised safeguards for transfers.

Security

We protect your information with sign-in checks, encrypted connections and limited access. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong Google password and tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.

Complaints

Tell us first at support@revtribe.co.uk and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
